Lamborghini sports car subsidiary Audi announced that Stefano Domenicali, former head of Ferrari F1 team will be its new president. The Italian takes over from Stephan Winkelmann, who moves to the Audi Quattro GmbH, after a decade in charge at Sant’Agata.
Domenicali, who led Formula 1 team Ferrari between 2008 and 2014, will take over with Lamborghini on March 15. He has 50 years and began his career in finance with Ferrari in 1991 and became sporting director of Formula 1 team in 1998.
He left Ferrari in 2014 and was hired by VW group as vice president of new business initiatives, sparking speculation that the German mark was in line to enter in F1.
